My practice explores the quiet relationship between memory, resilience, and transformation through ceramics, sculpture, and mixed media. Working intuitively with clay, I build figurative ceramic forms that evolve through making, allowing the material itself to shape both the physical form and its emotional meaning.
Drawing from my experience of growing up in Iran and continuing my practice in the UK, I explore identity, belonging, and the invisible experiences we carry throughout our lives. Rather than representing these experiences literally, I transform them into symbolic narratives that invite reflection, empathy, and connection.
Fish recur throughout my work as symbols of movement, adaptation, and inner freedom. Emerging from or inhabiting the human figure, they embody memories and unseen experiences that continue to shape us. Through sculpture, I create quiet spaces for contemplation, inviting viewers to reflect on what we carry within ourselves and how vulnerability can become a source of resilience.
