These are sculptures in a series I am making about my family's history. My family traveled over sea to escape pogroms in Russia at the turn of the last century. Documents are not available to me, but by sculpting, I am creating a vocabulary for stories and images. The sample I am submitting features ocean waves, family clusters and smaller objects to hold in one's pocket while traveling and facing the unknown.
