Spend two days with ceramic artist Carolina Delgado exploring form, surface, and botanical painting through porcelain.
Participants will create two pieces—a large platter and a cake stand—moving from hand-building and surface decoration to painterly glaze techniques inspired by historic European ceramics and Art Nouveau.
DAY ONE — FORM & SURFACE
Working with porcelain, participants will build their forms by hand and with the slab roller, exploring proportion, texture, decorative edges, and dimensional botanical details.
Learn how to create flowers, leaves, and other organic elements while developing a composition that feels distinctly your own.
The pieces will then be prepared and fired at CIRCA before the second session.
DAY TWO — PAINTING
Return to your fired pieces and explore glaze painting through a delicate, watercolor-like approach.
Drawing inspiration from botanical imagery, Delftware, European porcelain traditions, and the Art Nouveau movement, Carolina will demonstrate how to build colour, line, and composition across the ceramic surface.
Historical references are the starting point—not the limitation. Participants will be encouraged to bring their own ideas and visual language into their work.
Leave with two highly personal porcelain pieces and techniques you can continue exploring in your own ceramic practice.
All porcelain, glazes, materials and firing are included.
