The glaze incorporates excavations from a Bedford-Stuyvesant brownstone construction site, with additional finishes using wood ash from a pizza restaurant and stone slurry from Greenpoint. Each plate brings together fragments of the city into an intimate domestic realm. As I rebuild my roots in Toronto, my material palette shifts toward my new locale. With each batch, traces of my former home are replaced with new introductions.
